HOW IT WORKS

THE UK'S BEST SELLING
theatre show

Roald Dahl's wonderful children's novel about a Chocolate Factory and its eccentric owner Willy Wonka has been reimagined as a musical Theatre production for the West End. Directed by American Beauty and Skyfall director Sam Mendes, this musical production has received generally positive reviews and will be well worth a night out at the theatre.

Coming off the success of the other Dahl novel turned musical production Matilda, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory had a lot of anticipation and a tough task of actually being able to make this special effect driven piece but keep its heart. Thankfully this has been done well and included great performances by Douglas Hodge who portrays Willy Wonka superbly. He has great comedic timing and plays him with such insanity as to let you forget the travesty of Johnny Depp's cinematic take. Jack Costello plays an adorable Charlie and brings real purity and heart to the performance.

There are great stage effects that will have everyone, young and old, marvelling at this wonderful production. Enjoyable for everyone and it will bring out the child in the adults and make you laugh. There is not much more you could want from a trip to the theatre.
