THE UK'S BEST SELLING
Alex Turner, Jamie Cook, Nick O'Malley and Matt Helders are the four guys behind indie rock band, Arctic Monkeys. It's pretty tricky to nail down their style as the genre of rock changes on each album, but one thing that remains consistent is Turner's strong Sheffield accent hammering out fast lyrics.
The Arctic Monkeys have just released the details of their eagerly-awaited fifth studio album 'AM', which will be released in September. If their previous four albums are anything to go by, AM will be heading straight for the No. 1 spot. To celebrate, they are playing eight UK dates in October and November this year. The four-piece will start out in Newcastle on 22nd October at the Metro Radio Arena, before visiting Manchester, London, Liverpool, Cardiff, Birmingham and Glasgow.
The final date is 2nd November at Sheffield's Motorpoint Arena _ a homecoming gig if you will. AM will include the latest single 'Do I Wanna Know?' and feature collaborations with other rock legends, including Bill Ryder-Jones and Josh Homme. Support on tour will be provided by an up and coming Irish band, The Strypes. If you liked the sound of the Arctic Monkeys at this year's Glastonbury, these gig tickets are a must.
