How it Works
We all want the best.
We all want to know what's most popular.
We don't want to miss out.
We find out what the bestselling items are in the UK
We work out the best place for you to buy them at the best price
You click on the item and buy it
TheRankTank.com has 9 groups of 9 things that we all buy every day - 81 different products in total. Ummm, just a retail website selling 81 things? Well, not at all in fact. The ingenious thing about TheRankTank.com is that we gather actual sales data and other facts about the current best sellers from a variety of sources and partners, and work out what the biggest selling item was in the UK for the last month and tell you. You then click through to a company that we think sells the product for the best price on the market and buy it. The listings are based on facts. Easy.
No searching round reading ‘customer reviews’ (probably written by the company themselves), or some know-it-all blogger’s personal opinion on their best selling top 10 lists. You trust everyone else in the UK. If 200,000 people buy an ipod in March and it’s the best-selling MP3, it’s probably good enough for you. And us.
We make sure we partner with companies that we think have the best prices and amazing customer service. After all, why would we be happy recommending second best when everything else here is best-in-class? You don’t pay any extra coming to TheRankTank.com first to see what you should buy. We don’t charge you a penny.
The one thing that we guarantee is this:
These aren’t our favourites. They’re yours. Fact.
So how do you find the best selling products again?
The way we find out what the latest bestsellers are is fairly complex, but we work with the best in the business to do it.
The data comes from various places but two main ones are 'point-of-sale' (a snazzy way of saying the shop telling us) and asking customers themselves.
Now, all of these would take years to do by ourselves, so we work with various experts to help us, including Mintel, Kantar Worldpanel and NPD.
Where do I then buy that product from?
We spend a long time (we don't sleep much) scouring the internet for the best place that you can buy the item at the best price.
We obviously consider service too as we wouldn't want to send you to a dodgy online computer store to part with £400 only to never to see the money or a brand-spanking new computer again.
